Human activities dominant the distribution of Kobresia pygmaea community in alpine meadow grassland in the east source region of Yellow River, China

Kobresia pygmaea is the endemic and one of most important species in alpine meadow Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It key stage management degraded grassland, irreversible degradation will take place after succession phases community. However, knowledge about spatial distribution driving factors were still unknown. In this study, potential community was determined using BIOMOD niche model. Combine with reality based on remote sensing classification, climate human activities identified. The findings revealed that: (1) among all environmental factors, maximum radiation, monthly temperature difference, driest period precipitation main influencing for distribution, random forest model achieved highest prediction accuracy best stability any (2) area 653.25 km 2 (account 3.28% study area), mostly located northern central Zeku County, northeast Henan northeast, central, eastern parts Maqu County.
